Adobo Seasoning - Great for all Meats

Adobo seasoning is our go to spice. If we're grilling the majority of the time we ONLY use Adobo seasoning as a dry rub. It's great to use and it just adds so much flavor to meats. And if wanted add a sauce. The primary flavor of Adobo is Salt. Then all the spices adds the flavor and aromatics from garlic and onion. The fun color is from the Turmeric. We make a spicy Adobo by adding Cayenne Pepper.

This is an all purpose seasoning and can be used for anything from Pork, Chicken, Beef and even Fish. Heck, you could even add it to veggies and soups. Just get creative and have fun when cooking.

Any time you want a really flavorful dish use Adobo seasoning. It's just a few ingredients and you can have your own homemade version of this great seasoning. The best part you can control how mild or spicy the seasoning mixture is. We use this seasoning as our go-to seasoning.

Adobo Seasoning is really really east to make. More than likely you will have all the spices needed to make this great seasoning. The basis of the seasoning is salt (we use sea salt) garlic and onion powder. There are a wide variety of blends that make up Adobo Seasoning. A finally ground Oregano is usually included.

How to make Adobo Seasoning

The best part of making a homemade spice blend is it will be less expensive and you know exactly what is in the seasoning mix. Many of the store bought blends will have a large amount of salt, artificial flavorings and other fillers that are not needed.

Adobo Seasoning is a Latin/Mexican seasoning blend made with a combination of salt, garlic and other savory spices. It adds so much great flavor to dishes. The seasoning can be used as a dry rub or wet marinade. By adding some orange or lime juice and vinegar with the Adobo it can blue used as a wet marinade for meats.

So more than likely you already have all the spices to make this in your spice draw.

Ok this is how to make this seasoning. Drum Roll Please. . .It's really hard.

First Mix all the spices.

  • Sea Salt
  • Paprika
  • Black Pepper
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Ground Cumin
  • Turmeric
  • and for spice Cayenne Pepper.

NOTE: Leave out the Cayenne Pepper if you don't want it spicy!

That's it just mix the spices and put them in an air tight container. This is our favorite seasoning and we use it for so many dishes. During the summer when grilling we always turn to one of the many versions of Adobe seasoning. We make them in large batch so it is always available. Any time you want a very flavorful addition to your dinner. Just use this seasoning mix.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Sea Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoons Onion Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric

Instructions

  • Measure all ingredients
    1/4 Cup Sea Salt, 2 Tablespoons Paprika, 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper, 1 Tablespoons Onion Powder, 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder, 2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin, 1 Tablespoon Turmeric
  • Use a whisk to mx together ingredients.
  • Store in an airtight container and use with your favorite meat. We love this seasoning on Chicken Wings.
